Tomo Sone

 

Tomo Sone is a choreographer who combines artistic vision with scientific insights to create innovative dance narratives. She has honed her skills in experimental choreography, collaborating with augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and producing internationally recognized dance films and solo works. Her recent research explores the relationship between digital technology and the human body, seeking new ways to foster empathy. Tomo’s performances have been showcased at numerous venues and festivals around the world, including the Suzanne Dellal Center and the Jerusalem Theatre in Israel. Collaborating with diverse artists, she often designs soundscapes, costumes, and scenography to enhance her work. Her interdisciplinary approach is further supported by presentations at conferences, including the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria. In addition to her choreographic work, Tomo has led movement workshops to align training with creative goals and is dedicated to using dance as a tool for social impact and nurturing emerging talents.

Through Jewish text study as a LABA NYC “Change” fellow, I will look for a “change” in my choreography methodology to make a “change” impact of the performance by integra;ng cutting-edge digital elements into the body.
