SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd, 7:30 PM
Join us for the launch party of LABA’s theme for the new year, “Time.”It’s a chance to get to know our new fellows, and begin the intellectual and creative journey into the invisible yet ubiquitous concept of time.
Ruby Namdar will teach Ecclesiastes – you know, the “to everything there is a season” one. Woven into this teaching will be short presentations and performances from our new LABA fellows, which will create a contemporary conversation with the ancient text.
The evening will feature:
Live music from Andy Teirstein, Jenny Levison and Josh Waletzky.
Dance from Lee Saar.
Film by Sarah Freidland.
Curation by Daniel Palmer.
Theater from Ben Kamine.
Poetry by Ben Gantcher.
Pickles, (yes, pickles) by Shawn Shafner.
And an improvised, live work by digital media art duo OMTA.
Tickets include access to our after-party, where you’ll find an open-bar, something to nosh on and a chance to meet our artists.
