Work in Progress
Let’s come together in this time of reflection
Why do we human beings create?
Why do we listen to music, paint or dance?
The metahistorical calendar of Jewish culture — that of the biblical imaginary — commemorates every year, on the full moon in Libra (full moon of the Hebrew month of Nissan), the exodus from Egypt, and fifty days later, the reception of the Bible at Mount Sinai.
In parallel, the Christian metahistorical calendar commemorates, fifty days after Easter, Pentecost: the date on which the divine spirit speaks in the tongues that humanity needed to hear to receive its new message.
What unites both narratives?
What is the inner message of these enigmas?
At LABA we want to honor these significant dates from the cultural perspective, with a special study session and the presentation of a work in progress of the works that will be shown at the end of October.
To prepare ourselves properly, one week before the event we will propose a special challenge of creative observation of seven deep concepts.
We invite you to share your creative reflections to the event, if you feel inspired to do so.
June 1st at 19:00, at Casa Adret C/ Salomó Ben Adret 6, Barcelona.
The event is organised as part of the project “ReActMem: Rescue Memory – Activism, Arts and Public Remembrance”, which is being implemented by LABA Barcelona, together with twelve European partners, thanks to funding from the European Union under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme.
